Worlds Apart,
All Together!
|
Jem! Inhumanoids! G.I. Joe!
Transformers! 4 cartoons with almost nothing in common except having a the same parent
company. It's a simple assumption, but it's also wrong. Woven throughout each of the shows
are small hints that all the shows are occurring in single reality -- The HASBRO-VERSE!While the clues are slight and small, one clue is so
obvious that it stands out in the open daring you to notice it. Ladies and Gentlemen,
prepare to meet Hector Ramirez!
Hector Ramirez's (Hasbro's Geraldo Rivera) presence in
this show (Jem), Inhumanoids, G.I. Joe and Transformers would seem to indicate that all
shows exist in the same world. That must be the most dangerously cool reality EVER! |
What's more important? The Inhumanoid threat or Jem's
Identity? While everyone else is watching Eric Raymond put a bounty on Jem's identity, the
kid in the corner is checking out 'Inhumanoids'. |
-One
Man, One Job, One Strange Universe- |
| Well, Mr. Ramirez certainly got around
the Hasbro-verse. Below is a list of Hector's cameo appearances on each show. |

| Understanding
Hasbro Genius |
| Hasbro's not stupid (at least not back in the
mid-80s)! They realized that all kids are not the same and that one type of cartoon just
wouldn't help them pull in the big bucks. Taking a baseline genre (Sci-fi adventure),
Hasbro created a variety of shows that, when combined, could appeal to nearly any
audience. |
Jem
Romantic, musical, sci-fi adventure.
Mostly female cast.

(The evil, scheming Misfits)
|
G.I.Joe
War-action, sci-fi adventure.
Mostly male cast.

(The evil, but cowardly Cobra Commander)
|
| Covering The Bases As
you can see, Hasbro took the sci-fi adventure format to it's ultimate extent, making
cartoons of such a variety that there was appeal for anyone and casts so unique, that they
are each still loved to this day, each redefining what makes a good hero and what makes an
even better villain!
|
Transformers
Techno, sci-fi adventure.
Mostly robotic cast.

(The evil, cold-hearted Megatron)
|
Inhumanoids
Horror, sci-fi adventure.
Mostly non-human cast.

(The evil, but simple Tendril)
