Jem: The Animated
Series Guide

Jem, a Marvel Production in association with Sunbow Production,
originally premiered in syndication on October 6, 1985 in seven-minute segments as part of
a package called "Super Saturday (or Sunday)" between "Robotix" and
"Bigfoot & The Muscle Machines." However, Jem's popularity grew quickly and
she soon waved a hardy farewell to "Super Saturday/Sunday" and was given her own
weekly show, which later became daily!
With Christy Marx serving as Writer/Story Editor, the episodes were at
teen/adult level because of its superior character interactions, as well as an excellent
mixture of romance, action, and adventure with original music from Robert J. Walsh. Jem
ran for three seasons (from Fall 1985 to Spring 1988) in with 65 total episodes and the
show was then aired in re-runs on the USA Network into early 1990.
